Muhammad Ali Sculpture- Michael Kalish


Hail to the Greatest, the sculpture created by LA-based artist Michael Kalish, known best for his work with crafting portraits of American icons out of license plates and other found objects. He’s collaborating with architectural firm Oyler Wu to design the structure in which the bags are suspended. For his portrait of Muhammad Ali, Kalish using 1,300 punching bags, 6.5 miles of stainless steel cable, and 2,500 pounds of aluminum pipe to construct a 22-foot-high. It took him almost three years to complete, At the ceremony, Ali will hang the final bag
